Tips: Two functions of miniature circuit breakers
The two basic functions of miniature circuit breakers are short circuit trip and overload trip.
- Magnetic trip is a tripping method that uses the magnetic field generated by the magnetic tripping coil to attract the armature to trigger the tripping mechanism. Magnetic tripping can break the line instantly, so it is used for short-circuit protection.
- Thermal trip is a tripping method that uses the heat generated by the bimetallic sheet to deform and trigger the tripping mechanism. Due to the slow deformation speed of the metal sheet, it is only used for long-time overload protection.
1 pole miniature circuit breaker with 50 amp rated current, DIN rail mounting, C curve trip characteristic, can safely be used in AC 50Hz, 230/400V with a 6 kA short circuit withstand rating, which is an electrical switch to turn off the electrical circuit during a faulty condition to protect conductors.
