Tips: Basic requirements for the operating mechanism of a circuit breaker
Because the effective and reliable movement of a circuit breaker depends on the performance and quality of the operating mechanism in a larger degree, according to the different circuit breakers, the equipped operating mechanism must satisfy the required property and reliability. It mainly includes the following points:

  1. Possess the closing maintaining function. When the operating command lasts a short period and the operating function has short coordination, there must be a closing maintaining mechanism, so as to ensure that the circuit breaker is still in the closing position after the closing command and operating function disappear.
  2. Possess a relatively short separating time. The closing time should be irrelevant to the action speed of the operator and the time length of command transmitting. At least, the separating speed must be required to not likely to result in the arc reignition, so as to shorten the separating time as much as possible and reduce the existing time of the short-circuit fault, thus improving the stability of the power system and minimizing the fault scope as much as possible.
  3. Possess an anti-pumping equipment. In order to avoid the continuous multiple phenomenon of the circuit breaker after closing, it is necessary to use mechanical or electric method, so that the circuit breaker can not be divided and closed after the break, so as to reduce unnecessary actions.
  4. Possess an interlock equipment. With the interlock equipment in the operating mechanism, the reliability of the circuit breaker can be guaranteed. As a result, when the circuit breaker is in a kind of status, being affected by the wrong action of the operating mechanism, the general operating mechanism must possess separating position interlock, low-pressure and high-pressure interlock, position interlock in the spring mechanism and so on.
