Tips: Circuit breaker selection principle

  1. Circuit breakers' type and protection form, selected frame, device or current limiting should be determined in accordance with circuit protection requirements.
  2. The rated voltage of circuit breaker should be equal to or larger than the one of circuit protected.
  3. The rated voltage of under-voltage releaser of circuit breaker should be equal to the rated one of circuit protected.
  4. The rated current of circuit breaker and over-current releaser should be equal or larger than the calculated current of circuit protected.
  5. The ultimate breaking capacity of circuit breaker should be larger than the effective value of maximum short-circuit current.
  6. The protection feature of upstream and downstream circuit breaker in the distribution line should be coordinated with each other. The protection feature of downstream should be below the upstream, which is not intersecting.
  7. The long-time delay tripping current of circuit breaker should be less than the continuous current of wire.
