Tips: Error of digital counter
- Quantization error
In the digital measurement of frequency, the measured quantity is not exactly an integral multiple of the standard unit. So there is a part of the time not counted in the quantization process cause the error. Besides, the gate opening and closing time are out of sync (random) with measured signals, which will cause plus or minus error of digital counter. - Trigger error
Under the influences of interference signal, the gating pulse let the triggering advanced or lagged, and then trigger error is caused. - Standard frequency error
Under the influences of the external environment or its own structural performance and other factors, the standard frequency (such as the crystal oscillator) adopted by digital counter will produce drift, and then standard frequency error is introduced.
Digital counter is suitable for measuring the frequency, rotational speed, linear speed and flow of various types of control equipment. 6 digit counters can be customized as special test instrumentation for pulse width detection, duty ratio detection, etc.
