Tips: Types of proximity sensor

  1. According to the working principle, proximity sensors can be divided into:
    Inductive type: Used to detect a variety of metals
    Capacitance type: Used to detect a variety of conductive or non-conductive liquid or solid
    Photoelectric type: Used to detect all lightproof materials
    Ultrasonic type: Used to detect the material that ultrasonic wave cannot pass through
    Electro-magnetic induction type: Used detect magnetic or non-magnetic metal
  2. According to design and shape, they can be divided into cylindrical type, square type, and ditch type, perforating type and separated type.
    Cylindrical type is more convenient in the installation than square one with same detection features. The testing part of ditch-type is inside the groove for detecting objects that pass through the groove. Perforating type is used for small parts of small screws or balls, and assembles with buoys into a water level detection device.
  3. According to power supply method, they can be divided into DC type and AC type.
  4. According to the output form, they can be divided into DC two-wire type, DC three-wire type, DC four-wire type, AC two-wire type and AC three-wire type.
