Tips: 1-phase 220V to 3-phase 380V VFD working principle

The principle of variable frequency drive is a power control device that applies the principle of frequency conversion technology and microelectronics technology to control AC motors by changing the working frequency of the motor.

The output waveform of VFD is simulated sine wave, mainly used in 3-phase asynchronous motor speed regulation, also called frequency converter. The VFD is mainly composed of rectifier (AC to DC), filter, VFD (DC to AC), brake unit, drive unit, detection unit and microprocessor unit. The VFD mainly adopts the AC-DC mode (VVVF frequency conversion or vector control frequency conversion), which first converts the frequency AC power into DC power through the rectifier, and then converts the DC power into AC power with controllable frequency and voltage to supply the motor.

The single phase 220 volt to three phase 380 volt VFD converts the 220V AC power supply into DC power supply through rectifier (voltage doubling rectifier), and then converts the DC power supply into 3-phase 380V AC power supply with controllable frequency and voltage to supply the motor.
