Tips: Daily maintenance and inspection of soft starters
Check the environmental conditions of the soft starter to prevent it from operating beyond its permissible ambient conditions. Check whether object is obstructing the ventilation and heat dissipation around the soft starter, and ensure that there is sufficient space around the soft starter (greater than 150mm).
Check whether the distribution wire terminals are loose regularly, and whether the components in the cabinet are overheated, discoloring and burnt with a burnt taste.
Clean the dust regularly so as not to affect the heat dissipation, prevent the SCR from being damaged due to high temperature, and avoid leakage and short circuit accidents caused as dirt retention.
The dust can be cleaned away with a dry brush, or blown with bellows and sucked with dust collector. The massive dirt can be removed with insulating rod. If conditions permit, it can be scavenged with 0.6MPa compressed air.
Observe the operation of the fan at ordinary times, once the fan speed is slow or abnormal, it shall be promptly repaired (such as cleaning oil dirt and dust, adding lubricants, replacing the damaged or degenerative capacitor). Damaged fans shall be replaced in time. If the soft starter is sued without a fan, SCR may be damaged.
If the soft starter is sued in an environment that is humid or easy to condense, it shall be dried with infrared light bulbs or electric hair drier, in order to avoid leakage or short circuit accident.
