Soft starter starting fault and its handling method part 1

  1. When the user using the soft starter, the display screen has no display or there is messy code and the soft starter does not work. The causes for the malfunction may be:
    In the use process, the vibrations of the soft starter caused by the external components make the internal connection of the soft starter loose. (Open the soft starter cover to re-insert the screen connection.)
    Soft starter control board failure. (Connect with the manufacturers to replace the control panel.)
  2. When the soft starter is in the starting load, there is overtime starting phenomenon. The soft starter stops working and the motor is free to stop. The causes for the malfunction are:
    Parameter settings are unreasonable. (Reset the parameters, appropriately rise the starting voltage and appropriately lengthen the time.)
    Start at full load. (Minimize the load when starting.)
  3. In the starting process, if there is superheat malfunction, the light is on, and the soft starter to stop working:
    Frequent start results in excess temperature, causes soft starter overheating protection action. (The number of starts of the soft starter shall be controlled at no more than 6 times per hour, especially pay attention to the heavy load.)
    During the starting process, the protective element is actuated so that the contactor cannot be bypassed and the soft starter is operated for a long time, causing a protective action. (Check the peripheral circuit.)
    The heavy load and the over-length starting time cause overheating protection. (When starting, reduce the load as much as possible.)
    Soft starter parameter setting is unreasonable. Time is too long, and the starting voltage is too low. (Increase the starting voltage.)
    The soft starter's cooling fan is damaged and does not work properly. (Replace the fan.)
  4. In the use process of the users, there are phenomena that the starting is completed and the bypass contactor does not have pull-in phenomena. The causes for the malfunction may be:
    In the starting process, the protection device is malfunctioning due to the setting. (The protective device can be reset.)
    In the debugging, the soft starter parameter settings are unreasonable. (Mainly for the soft starter below 75hp, reset the parameters of the soft starter.)
    Poor control line contact. (Check control line.)
