Tips: What's the operating distance of proximity sensor?
Operating distance is the most important parameter of the proximity sensor, which mainly depends on the proximity sensor sensing face diameter, sensing target material and ambient temperature also affects the proximity sensor movement distance. There are two operating ways of the proximity sensor: Axial close and radial close. Generally use axial close approach.
The effective operating distance (Sr) is detected at the rated operating voltage and room temperature (23±5℃), and Sr is: 0.9Sn≤Sr≤1.1Sn. In the formula, Sn is a rated sensing distance without regard to the influence of external environment.
When installing proximity sensor, the setting distance should be set in the range of reliable operating distance (Sa). Only the detection object is in this distance, the proximity sensor operation can be reliable: 0≤Sa≤0.81Sn.
