Tips: The method of improving the standby efficiency of switching power supply
- Cut off the starting resistor
For the flyback power supply, the control chip is powered by the auxiliary winding after startup, and the voltage drop on the startup resistor is about 300V. Assuming that the starting resistance is 47kΩ, the power consumption is nearly 2W. To improve standby efficiency, the resistive channel must be cut off after startup. If the controller does not have a special start-up circuit, a capacitor can also be connected in series with the start-up resistor, and the loss after start-up can be gradually reduced to zero. The disadvantage is that the power supply cannot be restarted by itself, and the circuit can be restarted only after the input voltage is disconnected to discharge the capacitor. - lower clock frequency
The clock frequency can drop smoothly or suddenly. The smooth decline is that when the feedback amount exceeds a certain threshold, the linear decline of the clock frequency is realized through a specific module.
