Tips for using a DC contactor

  • Regular inspection
Regularly check the parts of the DC contactor. The movable parts of the first-class DC contactor are flexible and the fasteners are not loose. Damaged parts should be repaired or replaced in time.
  • Keep it clean
Keep the contact surface of the DC contactor clean and do not allow any greasy dirt. When small metal beads are attached to the contact surface due to arc ablation, it should be removed in time. If the contact has worn out, it should be adjusted in time to eliminate the excessive size. If the thickness of the contact is only 1/3, it should be replaced in time.
  • Do not remove the arc cover
The DC contactor is not allowed to be used with the arc extinguishing cover removed, because in this way, the DC contactor may cause a short circuit accident due to the arc interconnection when the contacts are disconnected. The arc extinguishing cover made of clay is fragile and will be broken during disassembly and assembly. Care should be taken to avoid damage caused by collision.
  • Timely replacement
If the DC contactor cannot be repaired, it should be replaced. Before replacement, check the parameters marked on the nameplate of the DC contactor and the coil label. The relevant data of the replaced DC contactor should meet the technical requirements. Some DC contactors also need to check and adjust the contact distance, overtravel, pressure, etc., to synchronize the actions of each contact.
  • Properly select the rated current
When the working conditions of the DC contactor are bad, such as the frequent forward and reverse rotation of the motor, the rated current of the contactor should be selected by a higher level.
