Tips: How to use a multimeter to detect if the incremental encoder is broken?

Power on the incremental encoder and measure the output voltage of A / B / Z phase. If there is no reading, then the power supply is partially damaged or the main chip is damaged. If one phase can be reading, slowly turn the encoder shaft. A / B phase should be voltage high level and then voltage low level in turn. There is 1/2 chance. And for Z phase, there is one high level in every circle, the high level voltage is generally 2V lower than the input voltage, or even higher. So if a phase never appears high level, or the output level is very low, then the phase is broken.
If the phase is no problem after detecting, then look at the oscilloscope. First to see if the waveform has been distorted, second to see if there is a pulse missing, and then test it again.
