Features

Tips: Autotransformer definition.

An autotransformer refers to a transformer with primary and secondary windings on the same winding. The primary and secondary windings are directly connected in series and coupled by themselves. According to structure, autotransformers can be divided into variable type and fixed type. Auto-coupling means electromagnetic coupling. Ordinary transformers transfer energy through the electromagnetic coupling of the primary and secondary coils, and there is no direct electrical connection between the primary and secondary sides. The primary and secondary sides of an autotransformer have a direct electrical connection, and its low-voltage coil is a part of the high-voltage coil.
