Tips: Difference and contrast between the circuit breaker and the fuses
1. The fuses
- Advantages
Good selectivity, good current limiting characteristics and high breaking capacity; small relative size, cheap price. - Disadvantages
The fuse must be exchanged after fault fusing.
It only has vary single protective function, and cannot realize remote control, which is possible through combining with the electric knife switch and switch.
2. The circuit breakers
- Advantages
When it breaks because of fault, it can be reset manually, instead of changing the component, except the condition that the big short-circuit current is cut off and requires to be repaired.
It has two segments of protective functions: the long-time delay release with the inverse-time characteristics and instantaneous current release, which are used as overload and short-circuit protections respectively. Some breakers has more protective functions with high sensitivity and easy regulating parameters. - Disadvantages
Tthe upper and lower non-selective circuit breakers are difficult to realize the selective cutoff. When the fault current is relatively high, it is easily to disconnect the upper and lower circuit breakers all of a sudden.
Tthe price is a little high.
Tthe breaking capacities of some circuit breakers are low.
10 amp 2-pole mini circuit breaker meet IEC standard to provide the supplementary protection for the electrical equipment with 6kA short circuit breaking capacity, trip characteristic of C curve. Compact size, DIN rail mounting and safe in use.
