Tips: What are the reasons for the heating of UL hook up wire in operation?

When the electric wire and cable exceed a certain load current, they must heat up. With the increase of the load current, the higher the surface temperature of the wire, if not handled in time, the consequences can be imagined. For example, the PVC wire, the core temperature is 70℃ as the upper limit of consideration, the surface temperature will be 5~10℃ lower. So the surface temperature of the wire below 60℃ is basically safe. From the power supply maintenance consideration, the lower the temperature, the better.

Electrical wire get hot during operation for the following reasons:

  • Wire conductor resistance does not meet the requirements, resulting in the heat in the operation of the wire.
  • Improper choice of UL hook up wire resulting in the use of wire conductor cross section is too small and overload occurs in operation. After a long time of use, the imbalance of heat dissipation of the wire causes the phenomenon of heat.
  • The UL wire installation arrangement is too dense. Ventilation and heat dissipation effect is not good or the wire is too close to other heat sources,
affecting the normal heat dissipation of the wire and causing the wire in the operation of the heat phenomenon.
  • Wire phase insulation performance is not good, resulting in small insulation resistance and producing heat phenomenon.

After the power wire generates heat, if it the faults are not found and removed in time, the insulation thermal breakdown will occur after the wire is to be powered on continuously. This will cause the electrical wire alternating short circuit even the fire.
